Covid-19
With the easing of restrictions in England the PCC have agreed the following measures as a way forward, taking a slightly cautious approach to lifting the restriction in church, so to hopefully help the people who are anxious about the lifting of all the restrictions.
The Church will be open every day between 9 – 6.
The PCC requests that you do not attend the church if you or anyone in your household have any symptoms of the virus or it has been confirmed that you have covid. We ask that everyone sanitize their hands on entry and leaving the church. We also requests that face coverings are used whilst in church unless exempt and that if possible to use the QR code.
On a Sunday the above requests apply and you will be shown to your seat by a sidesperson. The PCC have agreed that we still social distance in church, but now reduced to one metre. There will be an area in church available if people are happier being two metres apart.
Communion will be distributed in both kinds with the priest intincting before administration.
The singing of hymns will recommence beginning with only a couple of hymns each service and the PCC requests that the singing is done behind face coverings.
Sunday Services
Parish Communion is held every Sunday at 10am except on the third Sunday when we have an 8am said Communion and Morning Worship at 10 am. The Parish Communion attracts well over 60 people and like morning prayer it is sung by the congregation accompanied by the organ. Lay people play a large part in the services and help to make our visitors welcome. There is a Sunday school, during school term time, and each service is followed by refreshments to give an opportunity to make new friends. Please come and join us.
Weekday Services
We have a said service of Holy Communion on a Thursday morning at 10 am in the Lady Chapel to which everyone is invited. After the service we meet in the vestry for refreshments and chat for about thirty minutes.
Throughout the year the church holds services for the church aided school, the pre-school and Appletree school which are all located within the village.
