Funerals

Sadly, life doesn’t last for ever, though we believe that there is another dimension to life that we have yet to experience. Helping loved ones through a time of bereavement is fundamental to what our church is here for. We have a churchyard which is available to those who live here or have done, as a final resting place. If your wish is not for burial here, then a funeral service or a memorial service may take place within our lovely church.

For funerals the first port of call, in normal circumstances would be to speak to a funeral director, and they would then be in contact with us. If you would prefer to speak to us first then again, please feel free to do so. From that point, the funeral director in conjunction with ourselves will make all the necessary arrangements and guide you through your time of loss.

A funeral service can be held in a church, in a local crematorium or at the graveside for a burial. In addition, you may wish to have a smaller, quiet, family-only funeral followed by a memorial service in church at a later date. We can discuss all these options with you.

Please feel free to contact us at St Mark’s, so we can help you, especially at this time of sadness.
